AC Insecticidal Lamp
The application of chemical pesticides is one of the major control methods in agriculture. But their use may have adverse effects on environmental protection and the health of humans. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt green and pollution-free pest control methods in agricultural production.
Solar Insecticidal Lamps (SILs) have received increasing attention from both academia and industry, which brings a new mode for the prevention and control of agricultural migratory pests with phototaxis feature. This technology is a promising and new type of energy-saving pest control method that can effectively reduce the cost and harmful effect of pesticides on agriculture, thus bringing new development opportunities for the agricultural industry.
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been widely used for agricultural information collection and intelligent control of agricultural equipment. Based on the integration of SIL and WSNs, a new type of agricultural IoT technology - Solar Insecticidal Lamp Internet of Things (SIL-IoTs) is proposed to prevent and control pests with a diversified phototropic rhythm in agriculture.
SILs turn on and off according to the time slots with high pest density to kill pests. However, it consumes more energy when turned on for a long time and the WSNs need to be adjusted accordingly.
As a new type of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly pest control method, SIL is suitable for greenhouses, vegetable gardens, orchards, seedling bases and medicinal planting bases. Moreover, it can be controlled by day and night automatic switches. It is safe, convenient and easy to operate.
